• EXTENDED TEST RESIT
Learn to drive using The Driving Centres unique Visual Teaching
System. At the end of each lesson you will be given lesson handouts to cover
what you have learned. These can also be used as a backup for anyone who is
providing you with additional practise lessons.
You can choose how long you lessons last, one hour is most common but some people
benefit from a two hour lesson. These can be booked individually or in advance
at a discount.
The semi-intensive course is ideal for people who want to learn to pass the test at a faster pace. These lessons are taken over a 5 to 6 week period to fit you and your instructors schedule. These courses are best suited for day time lesson. They can either be booked in a block of 20 or 30 lessons depending on driving experience.
Refresher driving lessons will suit you if:
• You’ve passed your test but haven’t driven
much (it at all) since.
• You now need to drive as part of your job
• You need to brush up your skills
• You lack confidence in a particular area of driving
• You intend to supervise your son or daughter whilst they are learning
with an ADI and you need to know your teaching correctly.
• You were involved in an accident either as the driver or passenger
The list is endless! Remember this is a NO pressure course and takes a lot of courage to book, but is also a very popular course.
THE EXTENDED PRACTICAL TEST
The extended test is longer and covers a wide variety or road
situations, and is therefore more demanding. You are advised to prepare by taking
suitable instruction.
Courts can impose an extended driving test on anyone who is:
• Convicted of dangerous driving offences
• Convicted of other offences involving obligatory disqualification.
Loss of your driving licence for dangerous driving or related offences involving
obligatory disqualification means that you return to “learner” status
– normal rules for provisional licence-holders then apply.
You must take and pass a theory test for the category of vehicle which you intend to take an extended practical test.
The higher fee reflects the length of the test. Retesting is not meant as a punishment but is a road safety measure, aimed at checking the drivers competence.
These lessons are two hours long enabling you to cover the further distances required for the extended test route.
